Data controller

Zap-Shorts is published by AETC (Amdigital Empire Technologies Consolidated SARL), Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Data we collect

Install identifier and device model: guest account creation and per-device anti-fraud limits.

Phone number (optional): sign-in with an SMS code. Email and Google or Apple identifier (optional): Google or Apple sign-in.

Coin and VIP purchase history: crediting your purchases, support, accounting obligations.

In-app activity (episodes watched, progress, favorites): resuming playback, recommendations, anonymized statistics.

Notification token (if you allow notifications): new episodes and reminders.

IP address: security (per-network limits, sending SMS codes).

Advertising identifier (rewarded videos only): used by Google AdMob, which serves non-personalized ads unless you allow tracking.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. Card and mobile money details are entered with YengaPay: we never see them.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. It is shared only with the providers the service needs: YengaPay (payments), Aqilas (SMS delivery), Google Firebase (notifications), Google AdMob (rewarded videos), Google and Apple (if you use their sign-in), and our hosting provider.

Retention

Your data is kept as long as your account exists. When you delete it, we erase your phone number, your Google or Apple sign-in links, your progress, favorites, notification tokens and SMS code history. Kept without your phone number, for fraud prevention (per-device limits) and accounting obligations: the device identifier and model, and the history of coins, purchases, unlocks, rewards and referrals.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). SMS codes are never stored in clear text, videos are served through short-lived links, and our team’s access is protected by two-step verification and logged.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, or object to its processing, under the personal data protection law of Burkina Faso and, for people in Europe, the GDPR. Write to support@zapshorts.app. You can also contact the supervisory authority of your country (in Burkina Faso, the CIL).

The app is intended for people aged 12 and over.
